UJA - Federation of New York: Haiti
Organization:
Stated mission at this site:
The earthquake that struck Haiti created a human tragedy of heartrending dimensions. That's why we have created the UJA-Federation Haiti Relief Fund and are asking our community to join a Jewish response to a humanitarian crisis.
One hundred precent of the money raised will be used to support the relief efforts.
We have already taken steps to help send an Israeli relief team of medical, search-and-rescue, and post-trauma counseling experts to assist survivors.
UJA-Federation's Haiti Relief Fund will enabel us to mobilize the resources of the best possible agencies and other groups based in New York and Israel.
Funds will be used to provide:
- Support for search-and-rescue efforts
- Food, water, and clothing
- Temporary shelters
- Medical support services
- Psycho-trauma counseling
We will monitor the situation with the appropriate beneficiary agencies to ensure that money is being used effectively and efficiently.
